Parliamo! is a short, non-credit program run year-round. It's open to students and staff staying in Prato for at least four weeks.
The program content is tailored to your study discipline and experience, so it may vary from group to group.

Make new friends at Conversation Exchange: learn the basics of Italian, practise your conversation skills, learn more about the culture, and pick up tips to pass as a local!
Participating is easy and free but places are limited. Conversations currently take place virtually, with participants in Prato and Melbourne connecting in real time. Do you know the perfect way to cook pasta al pomodoro? Enjoy an authentic experience by sharing a meal with an Italian family! Our Buon Appetito! initiative involves Monash students and local host families in Prato and aims to promote greater linguistic and cultural exchange. Learn about customs and traditions by cooking together and chatting over a meal.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, our homestay program is not available. We hope to offer it again in 2023.
Our homestay program provides you with not only accommodation and food but also an authentic intercultural experience. You'll experience family life in Italy and you'll also have the opportunity to develop your Italian language and communication skills.
