We act as a research incubator and we concentrate our global expertise on complex international challenge areas including migration, health, and economic development. We are also the base for a Monash-led global consortium of historians.
We hold 40 international research meetings and conferences with 1900 participants on average each year. These events help connect Monash to major research networks, particularly those based in Europe.
Monash researchers also pursue the following location-specific research themes in Prato: migration and social inclusion; and an historical study of vulnerability, poverty and the movement of people. We have developed these themes in collaboration with university partners and we engage with local government and industry too.
Leading journals and major international publishing houses publish the fruits of our research. You can view these on our Publications webpage.
