Prosper as a Pratese!

Monash Prato local initiatives
Live as a local – get to know Prato

We encourage students to live as a local during their stay in Prato, to experience first-hand local Italian traditions and everyday life. As we prepare to welcome the next cohort of students at the end of September, the Monash Prato Centre is also preparing to offer students the opportunity to engage with the city and its people.

A warm welcome to everyone for a day of fun and celebrations.

On 19 April the Monash University Prato Centre in Via Pugliesi will once again open its doors to welcome not only the local community and students of Prato, but also to overseas students visiting from Australia, America, France, Israel and Canada.

Now in its 8th year, Open Day provides a unique opportunity for Monash students to interact with students from the neighbouring Universities of New Haven and PIN (University of Florence) and is an integral part of the annual Prato Campus Week.

GIG 2020: A truly transformative immersion experience

The Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) Program second edition in Prato

If the first edition of the Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) program – as always the case with any new endeavour – was an experiment with resounding success, the question (and challenge) we faced was, could we replicate the same success for subsequent editions?  Thought-provoking final presentations, the addition of a new field site, friendships and emotional farewells, these are just some of the early indicators that suggest the second edition not only met but exceeded (at least our) expectations, as we wait for the official data to emerge.
