Over 100 people at Prato alumni event

Over 100 alumni, staff and friends gathered for the Monash Prato Alumni Lavazza Italian Film Festival Event on Friday 14 September 2018.

We were delighted to spend time with Monash Prato Alumni at our exclusive event at Palace Cinema Como during the Lavazza Italian Film Festival. Prato alumni, staff and friends caught up over an aperitivo prior to the screening of the romantic-comedy Metti la nonna in freezer (Put nonna in the freezer).

24 September kicks off the 2018 edition of Arts Semester in Prato

A special welcome to the new cohort of Monash students arriving today for the start of the second edition of the Arts Semester in Prato

The Semester in Prato (SIP) program allows Arts students the opportunity to study at the Prato Centre for up to three months, with the chance to choose from a wide variety of different units taught from September to December 2018.

Some of the exciting programs on offer to our students include units in Italian language and culture, Human rights, Cinema, History and Politics, among others. A full description of these units can be found on the Arts Semester in Prato website.

Don’t miss Prato’s famous historical pageant!

Prato’s eagerly anticipated historic parade takes place every year on 8 September and dates back to the 13th century. Spectators can follow the annual parade of people dressed in historical costume through the old streets of Prato and witness one of the biggest events on the Prato calendar.

Apply now for The Woolmark Company Prato Study Scholarships

There are two $5,000 scholarships available each year for the next three years.

We are delighted to announce that The Woolmark Company has renewed its gift to support Monash students to study in Prato, Italy. The Woolmark Company Prato Study Scholarships are designed to support students to undertake an academic program at the Monash Prato Centre. The scholarship package includes a unique opportunity to tour Woolmark allied creative industries especially the textile industry in Milan. There are two $5,000 scholarships available each year for the next three years.

Damiano Bertoli 2018 Visual Resident Artist at the Monash Prato Centre

We are delighted to announce that Damiano Bertoli has been selected to be the Monash University Prato Centre Visual Resident Artist for 2018.

Through his multi-disciplinary practice, Damiano Bertoli challenges ideas of authorship, influence, and the inscribed flow of art-historical time, often bringing together artworks, historical events and cultural material to examine their form and language by means of recontextualisation.
