Adventures in Vinci

Model based on work by Leonardo Da Vinci - Traction Device
Monash Arts students learn about one of Italy’s greatest Renaissance men.

What happens when a town becomes your classroom for the day?

On a beautiful November day, students from the Arts Faculty explored the Leonardiano museum, learning about Leonardo da Vinci (b.1452) and his innovative work and studies in a number of different fields during the Renaissance in Italy. The field trip also included a visit to his birthplace, the Casa di Anchiano, surrounded by 100-year-old olive groves. The group later travelled on to nearby Lucca to work on projects for their Prato units, Inscribing Italy: Travels and Imaginings and Intensive Introductory Italian 2.
