Prosper as a Pratese!

Monash Prato local initiatives
Live as a local – get to know Prato

We encourage students to live as a local during their stay in Prato, to experience first-hand local Italian traditions and everyday life. As we prepare to welcome the next cohort of students at the end of September, the Monash Prato Centre is also preparing to offer students the opportunity to engage with the city and its people.

Conversation Exchange is back from 2 October at 6.30pm, and is a chance for students to try out some Italian and to meet and chat with locals. If you’re looking for insider advice about events in the city and places to go, you won’t be disappointed! The ‘Pratesi’ love to involve Monash students in the Prato community and will happily help you to settle in.

For those of you curious to try out local foods, we are in contact with local families eager to invite you to dinner. Buon Appetito! is your chance to experience family life in Prato during an evening of cooking and eating together, and allows you to share stories about customs and traditions.

To find out more, visit our Connect with Prato webpage.

We’re always looking for locals to get involved. More information is available in Italian on our website. If you’re a local Prato family and would enjoy hosting our students for dinner, please contact community@monash.it
