Monash Alumni & Friends Prato Tour 2018

We invite Monash Alumni to join us on an exclusive tour of Prato and surrounds.

Our hosts – Cecilia Hewlett, Director of the Monash Prato Centre, and Peter Howard, Director of the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, have put together a rich itinerary for you.

Here’s a taster of what you will enjoy:

  • View rare Michelangelo sketches with exclusive access to a private collection located in his house on the banks of the River Arno in Florence
  • Gaze out at the breathtaking panoramas of the Val d’Orcia from the UNESCO world heritage town of Pienza, remodelled as a retreat for the Renaissance Pope, Pius II
  • Explore the undiscovered Carmignano region where you'll visit Etruscan ruins, sample local wines with a private tour of the Capezzana estate, and enjoy a delicious meal overlooking the stunning Medici Villa at Artimino
  • Stay in the heart of this charming medieval city that hosts the Monash University Prato Centre

AUD $2416 standard tour only

AUD $3353 including tour, accommodation and ground transfers between Florence Airport and Prato

Please note: Airfares, travel insurance and some meals are not included in the costs above.

Booking details

To secure your place on the tour, you will need to pay a $500 non-refundable deposit via shop.monash. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
