On the morning of 16 January, twenty-five eager Year 11 and 12 students from Chisholm Catholic College, Perth WA, arrived at the Monash Prato Centre for a three-day course in Italian language and culture. Before leaving Australia, the students had already formed virtual friendships with students from a local high school, so when they first arrived in Prato they were already familiar with daily life in the city.
As part of their study program at the Monash Prato Centre, they met and interviewed people from the local community, they participated in a treasure hunt and hosted a special conversation exchange with students from a local school.
Chisholm Catholic College is a recognized and awarded Centre for Excellence in Languages. The College organizes bi-annual language tours to Prato, Italy.
