The Art and Language of Power in Renaissance Florence

A Symposium in Honour of Alison Brown

9-10 December, Monash University Prato Centre, Salone Grollo

Join PCMRS members at the Monash University Prato Centre for a two day symposium in honour of the multidisciplinary work of Alison Brown on Renaissance Florence.

The aim of this two-day symposium is to draw on Alison Brown’s ground breaking multidisciplinary studies of Florence in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in the fields of political history, the history of political thought, and Renaissance Humanism and culture, as the stimulus to analyse the state of Italian Renaissance studies today.

Alison Brown is emeritus professor in the department of history at Royal Holloway, University of London; a specialist in the history of Renaissance Italy.
