A home away from home

The Monash Prato Homestay Program

Living with a host family is a great opportunity to make your study abroad experience more well-rounded, enjoyable, and even life-changing. This is why we started the Monash Prato Homestay Program in 2017.

So far this year four students from Monash Law and the Monash Business School have taken part in the Homestay Program, experiencing life with a local family in Prato, becoming part of the family’s everyday life, learning more about Italian culture (and some Italian language!) and sharing their culture with the family in return.

Seeing the sites

From the Ferrari factory to the largest food park in the world

Some say that seeing is believing. Our students from Arts, IT, Science, Business and Economics, and Art, Design and Architecture, who studied in Prato over the months of June and July this year, got out and about visiting museums, factories, organisations and fairs in Prato, Florence, Maranello and Bologna. Site visits are one way that you can learn first-hand about the subject you are studying and they are an important feature of many of the study programs we offer at the Monash Prato Centre.

Despite the heat, studying in Prato has never been so cool!

June ended with the last classes of the 2019 Prato Law program.

For three months,184 law students from six different countries (Australia, Israel, Canada, France, United States and India) studied together in Prato, enhancing their knowledge of international humanitarian law, European human rights, international refugee law, among other subjects.

The Future of the Practice of Law

The Monash Prato Centre is delighted to welcome Mr Jeff Modisett, CEO of Nextlaw Global Referral Network LLC in Los Angeles.

In addition to their regular units, students from 2019’s Monash Prato Law Program are fortunate to be invited to this unique Enrichment Seminar on  Wed 19 June.
