Collaborative Clinical Trials in Intensive Care Medicine Conference
The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC) is hosting the 3rd Collaborative Clinical Trials in Intensive Care Medicine Conference at the Monash Centre in Prato (near Florence), Italy, from 5 to 7 June 2017. Following the success of previous conferences in 2013 and 2015, we will follow a similar format: small, investigator-focused meeting with extensive interactive dialogue along ANZIC-CTG lines, invitation only, University-sponsored and industry independent. The goal is to engage with international leaders in clinical trials in an informal setting, and to further our multicentre collaborations in Europe. This conference will provide a unique opportunity for participants to engage with internationally renowned leaders in intensive care medicine clinical trials. Distinguished speakers at the 2017 conference include Nancy Heddle (Canada), Paul Hébert (Canada), Kathy Rowan (UK), Rob MacSweeney (UK), Jack Iwashyna (USA), Dan Brodie (USA), Matthieu Schmidt (France), Shevin Jacob (Uganda/USA), Colin McArthur (New Zealand), Marianne Chapman (Australia), Allen Cheng (Australia), Craig French (Australia), Chris Nickson (Australia), Neil Orford (Australia), and Jamie Cooper (Australia). The research focus areas will be patient blood management, traumatic coagulopathy, end of life care, nutrition challenges, ECMO, advances in infectious diseases, ICU recovery, and the role of social media in critical care research.
