Over two days, ten scholars from universities across the US and Australia will convene at the Monash University Prato Centre for a workshop on immigration policy in the US and Australia. They will present their papers and receive feedback from the workshop participants. The participants will examine a range of issues of critical importance to ongoing policy debates generated by mass migration, including immigration and labor markets, responses to radicalization of immigrant youth, immigrants and racism in Australia asylum policy and its challenges, cosmopolitan education in a multicultural society, and Latinos in the US. The workshop is intended to produce an edited volume entitled, Australia, the US, and Mass Migration. The workshop enjoys support from the Edward A. Clark Center for Australian and New Zealand Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
