You will love discovering the 18th century building Palazzo Vai where the Monash Prato Centre is located.
It is a truly unique study setting in the heart of the city.
You are welcome to make use of the Centre's study and recreational areas during our opening hours from 8.30am to 8.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Library and Reading Room
The Reading Room is located on the ground floor and has a small library collection which comprises textbooks and reference books for courses, as well as fiction, tour guides and some original language literature. Books may be consulted on site or loaned after completing a loan form. Please ask the Academic Programs and Internships Coordinator for more information.
Relax, read or study in the brand new student lounge located on the first floor opposite the terrace. It provides a space for individual and group study and is equipped with computers, a color laser printer and a large display screen with Sat and Apple TV.
Outside of the Centre's opening hours, you are encouraged to utilise the modern facilities of the Biblioteca Lazzerini, the public library in Prato. Located in a former textile factory, the library is a five-minute walk from the Monash Prato Centre. It offers a quiet space for study and free Internet access. A good selection of English-language books, online newspapers, DVDs and CDs are available for loan.
Please see the Biblioteca Lazzerini website for further information.
You are welcome to use the desktop computers, networked printers, and photocopiers at the Centre. You will be given instructions on how to access these facilities at the orientation session at the beginning of your study program.
Extensive wireless Internet access is also available throughout the building. You will find instructions on how to access the Prato Centre network displayed in the computer labs and recreational areas. Visit our Technical facilities page for more information.
